Serving others

From this week’s Gospel, Jesus reminds us if anyone wishes to be first, he shall be the last of all and the servant of all. Mark 9:30-37

The greatest in the Church are those who make themselves servants of all, those who serve everyone, not those who have titles.

And to help us understand this, he took a child and placed him in their midst; and embracing him with tenderness. He said to them, “whoever receives a child, receives me.” That is, whoever welcomes the most humble, is the one who serves the most. Here we learn to serve others, choose the last place, and not try to climb a ladder.

Please join us at Mass as we celebrate this holy season and find ways we can be inspired by Jesus’s love.
