Reflection on Matthew 11:25-30

How often do I put my concerns ahead of what is really important? Are “things” dominating my life? What do I value most? Is this self-imposed list of worries and “must dos” preventing me from allowing His Word to rule my life?

Where in this list do I place my relationship with the Father, Son and Holy Spirit? Is that not the most important, indeed the only truly important component, to earthly existence? Is that not the yoke we are asked to bear in today’s Gospel?

Oh gentle Lord, help me to put aside all that inhibits total acceptance of your gentle, life-giving yoke. Help me to hear, accept and live within your invitation. Amen
