Matthew 22:1-14

The Lord invites us to a banquet, one of the favorite images in Jewish Messianic times.

This Banquet is spread out before us, and can fully satisfy our needs, yet how often have we refused the Lord’s invitation to share in the riches prepared for us.

Like today’s Gospel parable, after receiving the banquet invitation, we must decide what is our response. Knowing the generosity of the King (God), we can acknowledge the gift by planning a favorable/valuable response.

God the Father provided the gift of His son Jesus to take on a human nature. Jesus shows us how to live so as to be prepared for life with him and the father forever in glory.

Making ourselves available to the Holy Spirit, responding to love and the gift received. We can learn to share our time talent, and treasure to make others aware of Jesus. As time goes by, we can share our faith in our community, enabled by the grace of the Eucharist, Mass, and Reconciliation.

Learning how and when to pray, along with attempting to live the life taught in the Gospels, we build our relationship with God at every stage in life. Appreciation for my faith needs to be built day-by-day.
