Mark 1:14-20

“This is the time of fulfillment. The Kingdom of God is at hand. REPENT AND BELIEVE IN THE GOSPEL.”  This Gospel’s proclamation is very simple to understand.  Jesus started to choose His disciples as He passed through Galilee, picking the fishermen, Simon, his brother Andrew, James, his brother John.  It was also very simple for the fishermen to drop everything and without any hesitation they followed Him.  The action of these fishermen is loud enough for us to realize that they left their lives and followed a path being offered by Jesus, the ultimate fulfillment in heaven.  Jesus was preparing to proclaim the good news of God and He cannot do it alone.  The human side of Jesus needed to train and send out His Disciples to spread the Word.

If we look around, we can see that Jesus’ footprint in building His community and church has been going on for ages.  All of us with strong Faith follow the teachings of our church.  We all know that to be saved, we continuously repent for our sins because we are not perfect.  We continuously reinforce our faith through many channels that are made available to us.  We continuously search and delicately choose to make the right choices and to resist what is wrong.  So, let us take time to listen and hear Jesus calling us to follow Him and build His Kingdom in our own church community.
