This week’s Gospel tells of the story when a Pharisee and a tax collector entered the temple to pray, one at the front exclaiming his virtues and the other in the rear unable to lift his eyes because of his sins. Jesus reminds us to remain humble in our approach “for whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and the one who humbles himself will be exalted.” Lk 18:9-14
