Eucharist Preparation

First Reconciliation & First Eucharist

First Reconciliation & First Eucharist

“Jesus said, ‘I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me will never hunger, and whoever believes in me will never thirst.'” John 6:35

The Sacramental Preparation program provides preparation for the first reception of the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Holy Eucharist for St. Joseph Church parishioners.

Sacramental Preparation is a 2-year program and children can enroll after attending at least one year in Family Faith Formation or are students of Saint Joseph School. Sacramental Preparation deepens the children’s understanding of the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Holy Eucharist and helps children grow closer in their relationship with Jesus and with the church community.

In addition to the Family Faith Formation requirements, the Sacramental Preparation program requires the following commitment:

  • Sunday attendance at 12pm Mass
  • Parents & children attend all sacramental preparation sessions
  • Attend parent/guardian parent sessions.
  • Attend the First Reconciliation Retreat and First Holy Communion Retreat
