The Role of an Usher
Ushers fulfill several essential responsibilities that contribute to the smooth flow of the Mass.

• Greeting and Welcoming: Ushers offer a warm smile and friendly greeting to all who arrive, making them feel at home.
• Seating Assistance: They help parishioners find available seats, especially during crowded Masses, ensuring a comfortable and reverent environment.
• Collection of Offerings: Ushers facilitate the orderly collection of offerings and donations, an important part of our communal worship.
• Communion Flow Management: They assist in directing the congregation during Holy Communion to maintain a prayerful and efficient process.
• Emergency Assistance: Ushers are prepared to respond to any unexpected situations, offering help when needed.
• Distributing Bulletins & Tidying the Church: At the conclusion of Mass, ushers distribute bulletins and ensure the worship space remains clean and orderly.

The Ministry Aspect of Ushering
Being an usher is more than just a functional role—it is a ministry of service that reflects Christ’s love. Ushers are called to be stewards of hospitality, embodying the words of Jesus: “Whoever welcomes you welcomes me, and whoever
welcomes me welcomes the one who sent me.” (Matthew 10:40)
