Hospitality Ministry: Welcoming All as ChristAt St. Joseph Catholic Church, our Hospitality Ministry is rooted in the Gospel call to welcome the stranger and to receive each guest as we would receive Christ Himself. This ministry serves as the gracious face of our parish—extending warmth, kindness, and a genuine spirit of belonging to all who enter our doors. Whether someone is a longtime parishioner or visiting for the first time, our mission is to ensure every soul feels seen, valued, and embraced as part of the Body of Christ. The works of this ministry are as joyful as they are essential. We host monthly Hospitality Sundays after Masses, coordinate receptions for parish events, and offer refreshments and fellowship for special liturgies, celebrations, and milestones. We also extend care to grieving families during funerals, provide welcome bags to new parishioners, and work collaboratively with other ministries to foster a culture of connection, reverence, and grace-filled service. Hospitality is more than refreshments and handshakes—it is a sacred ministry of presence. In every kind word, cup of coffee, or shared smile, we quietly evangelize, embodying the love of Christ through radical welcome and thoughtful care. As St. Benedict reminds us, “Let all guests who arrive be received as Christ.” Get Involved! Please contact Lauri Kaefer at 510-552-7431 or lkaefer@comcast.net. Sign up Click Here. |
