Four members of the unhoused community living beneath the Washington Boulevard overpass recently lost their tents and all of their belongings in a fire believed to have been caused by a lit candle. Following the fire, City crews cleared the area, leaving them with little more than the clothes they were wearing.
Thanks to the generous donations of our parishioners, HOM volunteers sort and distribute new and gently used clothing throughout the year. We are now helping these fire victims begin again by providing essential living supplies, clothing, and grocery assistance as they work to rebuild their lives.
