Welcome Father Garrett McGowan—With gratitude to God and great joy, we welcome Deacon Garrett McGowan, who will be ordained to the Sacred Order of Priesthood on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at 11:00 AM at the Cathedral of Christ the Light in Oakland by The Most Reverend Michael C. Barber, SJ, Bishop of Oakland Following his ordination, Father Garrett McGowan has been appointed Parochial Vicar of St. Joseph Catholic Church/Mission San José, Fremont, and Chaplain of Santa Rita County Jail, effective July 1, 2026.
