Saint Bonaventure Statue

Saint Bonaventure was a 13th-century Franciscan friar, theologian, and philosopher who embodied the spirit of devotion and intellectual curiosity. Born in Italy in 1221, he joined the Franciscan Order and went on to become a renowned scholar, writer, and leader. 

Saint Bonaventure’s writings, particularly his mystical treatises, continue to inspire and guide seekers of spiritual truth. He was appointed Cardinal Bishop of Albano and played a key role in the Franciscan Order, earning him the title “Seraphic Doctor.” 

The statue of Saint Bonaventure, originally venerated in the historic 1809 adobe church, remains a cherished and sacred presence, serving as a testament to the enduring legacy of this revered saint. His feast day is celebrated on July 15, and he remains a beloved saint, revered for his wisdom, compassion, and devotion to God.
