The Mission needs volunteers

Do you like kids? Inquisitive students will be touring our Mission soon, and we are in need of friendly assistants to help out with our new programs. The afternoon program lasts only about an hour and involves teaching Ohlone games or leading a nature walk through the Dominican gardens. These can be learned with little effort.

If Mission history is your thing, you may lead an hour-long morning tour of the Mission Church, the Historic Cemetery, and Patio Garden. We’ll train you from our Docent Guide, and then you’ll shadow other docents before guiding on your own. Anyone can be a good docent. Our current cadre includes engineers, physical therapists, and former teachers.

On average we ask you to serve about twice per month during the busiest months of November through April. Contact Mindy Isham (mindyisham@comcast.net, 510-683-9564) for more information.
