The Technology Coordinator is responsible for the planning, overseeing and supporting the implementation and use of educational technology in a school setting. The Technology Coordinator works as a support and mentor to the classroom teachers and provides sources needed to allow for technology as a tool to enhance learning. A part time Technology Coordinator may also be a classroom teacher or administrator. Technology Coordinators should primarily have the skills of educators and school-based administrators, rather than as information technology specialists.


Part time, may be completed alongside classroom teaching 


  • 3 or more years experience in a school setting as a teacher or administrator
  • Strong technology, communication, and organizational skills
  • Certificate, degree, or coursework in educational technology preferred

Tech Coordinator Responsibilities:

  • 1. Develop and implement a vision for integrated educational technology at the school
  • 2. Support and advise teachers, administration, and staff around technology matters, including productivity and use of instructional/educational technology
  • 3. Develop and deliver technology professional development to staff
  • 4. Engage with school families around their questions and concerns about school technology systems, online learning platforms, and digital citizenship
  • 5. Supervise computer lab, mobile labs, and 1:1 program.
  • 6. Supervise maintenance, update, repairs, and purchase of school technology
  • 7. Stay up-to-date with new educational technology products, programs, methodologies, etc.
