Espada Court in Fremont decorates their Victorian style homes with thousands of lights and lighted figures for Christmas, the full month of December, collecting money and canned foods for charity during the entire month by having volunteers outside each evening, handing out candy canes and information about the charitable cause. As in the past, we are collecting for Sister John Marie’s Pantry. Families, church groups, youth sports and scouting groups, teens needing services hours, and anyone willing to dedicate their time is welcome to commit to an evening or more during December. We collect in drizzle but not in rain. Youth and teen groups need to have a supervising adult. We have an electric outlet available if you would like to bring a boom box and play Christmas/seasonal music to enjoy. This is a wonderful way to participate in the “giving” part of the season! We hope that you will consider joining us for this worthy cause. Please contact Deacon Dick Bayless at firstname.lastname@example.org or call (510) 894-3820 to place your reservation.
About the Victorian Christmas at Espada Court
For the past two decades, both Espada Ct. and Zacate Pl. in Central Fremont, near Mission Blvd., have adorned their houses with holiday lights in hopes of bringing some Christmas cheer. These Victorian-style homes are framed with lights and offer figurines and cutouts that will delight the entire family.
Every holiday season, the light displays are up and ready usually the day after Thanksgiving. After a roundabout through each court, ending at Espada Ct., there is a mailbox that will accept letters to Santa (yes they really do get sent!), and a donation box for Sister John Marie’s Pantry. Visitors can also leave canned foods in Santa’s sleigh. The displays will be up until the day after Christmas, so hurry over for this endearing display!
