Tuesday, May 28 Do you like parties, fun, food, dancing, and joy in meeting new friends? Then come join us! Become a SPRED Helper catechist! Information Night, Tuesday May 28th 7:30-8:30pm in the Church. The necessary training will be provided through the Diocese of Oakland’s SPRED Model Training Center, on June 22 (time TBD). Mass and Eucharistic Procession with the Bishop

Join us on Sunday, June 2 at 6:30pm to celebrate the Feast of Corpus Christi with a Mass and Eucharistic Procession. Fr. Michael Barber, the newly appointed Bishop of Oakland (he will be consecrated as the Bishop of Oakland on May 25th), will be the principal celebrant. A simple reception will follow in the hall. All are welcome.

Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament

Thursday, Jun 6 Every Thursday before the first Friday of the month, our Parish has Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament located in St. Joseph Church. All are welcome to join fellow adorers and spend some time before the Blessed Sacrament, our Lord Jesus Christ, this coming Thursday. Share in this reverent & fulfilling event. Adoration begins after the 8am Mass and concludes with Evening Prayer & Benediction at 5pm.

International Festival

June 8 & 9 St. Joseph’s International Festival is coming on June 8th and 9th, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. behind Old Mission San Jose. Mark your calendars now for a fun weekend of delicious international cuisine, cultural music and dance, children's games and adult activities, arts & crafts, raffle, a Pancake Breakfast on Sunday, June 9.

St Joseph Church is currently seeking parishioners with accounting and/or financial skills and experience to join the Finance Council. Individuals with a CPA or financial analysis background are especially needed to ensure the long term financial viability of the parish.

Anointing of the Sick and Elderly

Friday, June 14 at 1pm Our traditional Summer Anointing of the Sick and Aging will take place on Friday, Jun 14, 2013 at 1pm. Our afternoon will consist of Mass, Anointing of the Sick and a time for refreshments and fellowship. Please remember that the sacrament of the sick may and should be celebrated by:
  • all who experience a need for healing in their lives
  • are of advanced age
  • are scheduled for serious or major surgery
  • have taken "a turn for the worse" or develop a new sickness even though the person has received the sacrament before
The need for healing may be physical, emotional and/or spiritual. If you have questions contact Helen Campbell at 795-7958.

Museum volunteers needed

The Mission Museum is recruiting docents (tour guides) to give guided tours to 4th grade classes during the week and family tours on the second Sunday of each month. Tours are scheduled Monday - Friday at 10 a.m. or 12:30 p.m. and last approximately 2 hours. Sunday tours are at 1 p.m. We will provide the training materials which you can take home to study. If you enjoy people and/or history, we need your help. We ask that you give a minimum of 2 tours a month. The number of school children we can tour through the mission is only limited by the number of docents available. Interested? Call Barbara at 657-8233 or Dolores 657-1797 ext 106. Sign up now and you will be ready to go when school begins again in September.
