Lenten Opportunities

Friends, Lent is here! We would like to share these resources as we make our Lenten journey. Lent is a time for personal growth. We should aspire to expand our hearts, enlarge our souls, and enrich our minds. There are additional resources here and the Lenten Mass schedule here.

Our talents

The Gospel tells us not to squander our talents. Faithful use of one’s gifts will lead to participation in the fullness of the kingdom of heaven, lazy inactivity to exclusion from it. Mt 25:14 Please join one of our many ministries to contribute your talents as well.

Lent

On the 5th Sunday of Lent we recall the raising of Lazarus. The raising of Lazarus is the sign of a new revelation that death is not final. Life is. Jesus said, “I am the resurrection and the life; whoever believes in me, even if he dies, will live, and everyone who lives and believes […]

Lent

On the 4th Sunday of Lent we recall that the journey from darkness to light, from blindness to sight, is found in all the readings. Lent

On the 3rd Sunday of Lent we recall that Jesus asks us to join him in faith like the living water offered to the Samaria woman. “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again; but whoever drinks the water I shall give will never thirst; the water I shall give will become in him […]

Lenten Fig Tree

This Lenten season, we are reminded of the parable of the fig tree that bore no fruit. (Lk 13:1-9) …Then a gardner replied, “Sir, leave it for this year also, and I shall cultivate the ground around it and fertilize it;it may bear fruit in the future..” This Lenten season we are reminded that God […]

Lenten Prayer

This Lenten season, we are reminded when Jesus took Peter, John, and James and went up the mountain to pray. (Lk 9:28b-36) …Then from the cloud came a voice that said, “This is my chosen Son; listen to him.” This Lenten week we are reminded to pray as a family, especially for the people of […]
